This full day activity for community pediatricians provides both<br />
active-learning, lecture-based sessions and workshops to cover<br />
best practice in primary care pediatrics. This activity helps<br />
community physicians stay up to date with evidence-based<br />
presentations in rapidly changing areas of pediatric practice so<br />
they can delivery best practice to their patients. See attached<br />
schedule for details of the CME activity.<br />
INTENDED/TARGET AUDIENCE:<br />
General Pediatrics, Pediatrics<br />
COURSE GOAL:<br />
To provide physicians and other providers caring for children with<br />
current evidence-based practice guidelines relevant to the field<br />
of general pediatrics, augmenting the skill set and knowledge<br />
base needed to care for patients in a primary care practice.<br />
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:<br />
Upon completion of this activity, participants will improve their<br />
competence and performance by being able to:<br />
1. Explain the benefits of early childhood literacy interventions to the<br />
developing child.<br />
2. Describe the new treatment recommendations for patients with IBD.<br />
3. Identify two techniques you can use in your practice to overcome vaccine<br />
hesitancy.<br />
4. Describe two common pediatric/adolescent gynecologic concerns and<br />
how to address them.<br />
5. Explain how to evaluate a patient’s complaint of joint pain.<br />
6. Describe the ways you can combat the opioid epidemic in<br />
clinical practice<br />
7. Describe the signs, symptoms and treatment of pediatric eczema.<br />
8. Summarize current Oklahoma Health Care Authority child health<br />
initiatives.<br />
9. Describe how to identify children with problematic sexual behavior and<br />
how you can help them.</p>
