Abstract

Oklahoma ranked 5th nationally in rates of opioid prescribing in 2016, with 97.9 opioid prescriptions per 100 people. Opioids account for the majority of prescription drug-related overdose deaths. Despite recent declines, deaths from opioids remain common.
